Market Alert: Laura Shifts the Supply Chain

August 31 2020

Last week, we released our first segment of Kingsgate’s new email alert program, Market Alert. This has been a project we have had in the works for quite some time now, but as we continue to work towards data sharing and dedication to informing our customers, we’ve finally found the direction we’d like to go in with these updates. Last Tuesday, we started sending daily updates with information on Hurricane Laura as she grew and progressed.

Our Market Alert was sent out as the freight market and supply chain shifted in anticipation of Hurricane Laura’s arrival. We were able to share the trajectory of the hurricane and the potential markets that could be impacted. Additionally, we shared outbound and inbound tender rejections, capacity changes, where LTL shipping would be impacted, FEMA relief effort info and more.

Natural disasters always impact the transportation and logistics industry. These disasters alter and shift the supply chain flow and trucks will be diverted from their typical activity to rebuilding efforts and disaster relief.

With all that in mind, we understand your company’s freight still needs to be shipped to keep your business and the economy going, all whilst relief efforts are being provided. With our Market Alert and data sharing, Kingsgate is doing whatever we can to help our customers continue delivering their promise to their customers and helping provide aid. If you need a dedicated broker to help you haul your freight, please call Kingsgate at 513.874.7447.

All the Best,

Jeff Beckham
