Kingsgate’s Holly Holiday Season Pt. 3

December 21 2020

Christmas is right around the corner and by Friday we’ll all be towards the end of this unpredictable year. It’s been said plenty by me and countless others, this year has been a whirlwind of constant pivoting and navigating around each roadblock and celebrating the holidays with 80% of our team working from home will be another challenge. To say our typical holiday season celebrations like that of  2018 and 2019 won’t be the same in the  2020 Christmas season would be an understatement.

So, we did what we have done all year and found new ways to celebrate. I want to express my appreciation to the marketing team for putting this together – what they’re calling the “3-day holly jolly holiday season.” With so many of our Kingsgate Family remote, this is a great way to support our great company culture and have some fun. This year will certainly be different - but hopefully lots of fun with great participation!

Here’s a look at the schedule and a breakdown of how we’re celebrating in this different setting:

THE BE MERRY CELEBRATION

This year as all things, our typical TopGolf celebration is going virtual… without the golf. Instead, we’re having a virtual Zoom party (how 2020)! After a day of holiday movies – either at the Kingsgate office or our team at home watching some Christmas classics – we’ll all hop on a Zoom happy hour call.

THE VIRTUAL GAME CELEBRATION

Since we won’t be gathering to do our in-person Secret Santa or Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition, we’re using our internal intranet (Connect) to host some holiday games and our competition! Our team’s competitive spirit always comes out even on Connect and I can’t wait to see how the Holiday Trivia and Guess Whose Ornament turns out.

THE SEASON OF GIVING CELEBRATION

Something we wanted to ensure we kept alive this year is our Christmas tradition of encouraging the spirit of giving! Giving back is hugely important to the legacy of our company and something I’ve talked about on our blog innumerous times. This year, we participated in a few different gives back initiatives but sent our team all the virtual giving opportunities that Children’s Hospital has this year to give to kids both at the hospital and those who aren’t but still need some holiday cheer!

I certainly am looking forward to celebrating the holidays even in this different fashion and am beyond ready for 2020 to end and look onward towards 2021. The end of the year is always hectic, more so this year than with others, but again, this year has taught me how important it is it look at how blessed we are to have what we have and continue to take a bad situation and learn/grow from it!

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas from the entire Kingsgate Family.

All the Best,

Jeff Beckham
