A Reminder to Thank Your Employees

At Kingsgate, we celebrate a lot of “national holidays.” Of course we celebrate all your typical holidays like St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc. – but we also have been known to partake in some of the goofier national holidays. In the past, we’ve celebrated #NationalPizzaDay, #NationalCoffeeDay, Shark Week, #NationalPuzzleDay, #NationalFlannelDay and more. These holidays cover the most mundane to the most extreme things to celebrate, but I like how they remind us to celebrate, have fun and take time to cherish the small things we might not always take the time to appreciate. 

This past Friday was #NationalEmployeeAppreciationDay and I was thankful to be reminded to take the time to thank each and every one of our employees for their time, work, dedication, talent and creativity over this past year, especially. Our employees are the lifeblood of Kingsgate’s legacy. Each member of each department plays a role in keeping Kingsgate in business, helping our customers Ship Confidently, assisting with our carrier network and staying true to our core in the process. Our family business would not be here today, 35 years later, if it weren’t for all our team – past and present.

I saw a sign recently that read, “A great employee is like a four-leaf clover; hard to find, lucky to have.” We are lucky to have a lot of great employees who have done so much to pull us through a really difficult time. I am more appreciative than ever to have the team we have assembled.

I asked my siblings to share a thank you message to our team as well and they shared this:

“There is a saying, ‘Your excellence drives our success,’ and this is true. I am truly grateful for our employees who inspire me daily. Our team is always ready for challenges, works hard and delivers excellence. The past year we went through numerous challenges, and our team handled them like champions. Kingsgate Family, thank you for everything you do. You are the reason we stand strong.” – Amy Barnett

There’s nothing the Kingsgate Family cannot handle. Our employees embody what Kingsgate is all about and we know the energy our employees bring to work makes us who we are. They help us grow, shift, change, refocus and keep pushing us forward.

But what would a blog from me be, if I didn’t harken my inner-Lombardi and para-phrase one of my favorite quotes? “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual. People who work together will win… Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work or a company work.”

Take this as a reminder to thank your employees, co-workers and others around you for the things they do to help you! They deserve it.
