CVSA Annual Safety Blitz 2021

May 03 2021

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's (CVSA) annual safety blitz is set to start tomorrow, May 4th and end May 6th. During this year’s blitz, inspectors in North America will focus on two main inspection categories: vehicle mechanical fitness, concentrating on lighting, and an examination of driver operating requirements, with an emphasis on hours of service.

Here’s more from the CVSA’s announcement of this blitz:

“It’s important to remember that International Roadcheck is a data collection effort,” said Sgt. Samis. “The inspections conducted during the three days of International Roadcheck are no different from the inspections conducted any other day of the year. Other than data collection, the inspection process is the same.”

Additionally, law enforcement personnel will conduct inspections with COVID-19 precautions in mind and will be following their departments’ health and safety protocols during 2021 Roadcheck.

American Trucker published this blog with tips to prepare for the roadcheck. It’s important to prepare, be aware of the blitz and plan for how it impacts capacity.

Thanks for reading and be safe driving this week!

All the Best,
