Our Fifth Annual Spirit Week

August 02 2021

Kingsgate’s fifth annual Spirit Week starts today! Last year, our normal Spirit Week was majorly reconfigured and just like many other things in 2020, we went virtual. Those who have followed Kingsgate for the past few years might remember how Spirit Week came about. It initially started five years ago in the summer of 2016 to celebrate the Rio Olympics. Watching this year’s summer games reminds me of how lucky we are to have had these fun celebrations with our team throughout the years and just how Spirit Week was born...

After the 2016 Office Olympics, we decided to make this an annual event and created a tradition where we could join together every summer and thus Spirit Week was created. We’ve been hosting Spirit Week for the Kingsgate Family since 2017 and still are in 2021. Pre-COVID during Spirit Week, typically, the Kingsgate Family is divided into teams that compete in six games throughout the week. Also, our traditional Spirit Week doesn’t have ordinary games, our Spirit Week games include Minute-To-Win-It style games, including: shaking tennis balls out of a tissue box attached to the players’ waist, a pop-a-shot tournament and using teamwork to stack cups using only string and a rubber band.

Well, with COVID in mind last year, we had to pivot. This year, the workplace still looks different but our love of keeping our company culture engaged hasn’t changed a bit. So, we’re keeping Spirit Week virtual this year but switching up the games! Here’s a look into the schedule for this week:

This year, after all the fun virtual games are done, we’re so excited to be gathering for the first time since 2019 and celebrating (the appropriately titled) Kingsgate Family Reunion!! Friday after a company learning session at our headquarters, the team will be reuniting for some food, drinks and fun after work. I am so looking forward to seeing the fun that is had this week and seeing the Kingsgate Family in-person at the reunion.

Make sure to follow our social channels as we share each fun step of the way!

All the Best,

Jeff Beckham
