OUR 3RD ANNUAL SPIRIT WEEK

Today is the start of Kingsgate’s third annual Spirit Week. We are excited to continue our favorite company culture event, especially as we grow and expand. This week full of activities is all about “Keeping it Kingsgate”, having fun and collaborating with each other.  Our team loves this fun-filled event so much that we decided to make this an annual event and created a tradition where we could join together every summer, incorporating our new employees into the fun. One of our employees, Megan V., said, this is her “favorite week of the WHOLE YEAR!!!”

The 2019 Spirit Week is very similar to last year, where our team competes in six games throughout the week and battle it out to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place (with some awesome prizes to go along with bragging rights). However, this year with our Dayton office open we’re changing a few of our games to be digital based, so all our team can get to know each other. Then we’ve also invited our Dayton team to come down to our West Chester headquarters to play in our other games. These aren’t ordinary games, our Spirit Week games include Minute-To-Win-It style games, including: shaking tennis balls out of a tissue box attached to the players waist, a pop-a-shot tournament and using team work to stack cups using only string and a rubber band.

Spirit Week was created to help our growing company get to know each other on a fun level, while encouraging teamwork and bolstering our company culture. People from different office locations and different departments have a chance to get to know each other better and work towards a common goal.

You can feel fun and competitive atmosphere during Spirit Week when you walk through the office. The team spirit and planned colorful team outfits make things more fun, but our team’s enthusiasm is really what changes Kingsgate during Spirit Week.

We asked two employees who have participated in spirit week to describe what it’s all about, here’s what they said:

• “Spirit Week is one of my favorite weeks of the year! It’s a time where I’m able to get to know some of my coworkers from across all departments and have a lot of fun doing it.” – Carlyn O., Recruiting
• “Spirit Week is the best week ever at Kingsgate. It’s like Office Olympics and team building in one. We break up into random teams and choose our best player for each game. It’s so much fun working with competitive co-workers. Spirit week is our chance to bond and get to know each other. #bestweekever” – Becca H., IT

We also asked two new employees who will be competing in Spirit Week for the first time what they are looking forward to:

• “I’m excited for Spirit Week because it’s a chance to break away from our daily work to build relationships around the company in a fun and non-traditional way. It’s a good way to build up the company ‘spirit’ while keeping that competitive drive alive.” – Luke K., Sales
• “Competition brings out different character and I’m excited to see the competitive nature of my co-workers.” – Mark S., IT Intern
