OUR 2ND ANNUAL SPIRIT WEEK: EXEMPLIFYING TEAMWORK & CULTURE

July 23 2018

Today is the start of Kingsgate’s second annual Spirit Week. We are excited to continue this tradition from last summer. This week is all about “Keeping it Kingsgate”, having fun and collaborating with our team.  We started this event in the summer of 2016 to celebrate the Rio Olympics. Our team enjoyed this event so much that we decided to make this an annual event and created a tradition where we could join together every summer, incorporating our new employees into the fun.

Our team competes in six games where they play to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. These aren’t ordinary games, our Spirit Week games include balloon tennis, pushing cookies down competitors faces and an intense relay race. The idea of this week is to allow our growing company to get to know each other on a fun level while encouraging teamwork and bolstering our company culture.

Teamwork is a vital part of making our growing team feeling like Kingsgate is still a  family. The competitors that make up our six teams all come from different departments in Kingsgate. People from different departments, such as recruiting and operations, can get the chance to get to know each other better and work towards a common goal.

2017 Spirit Week Winners

The Kingsgate Family thrives on competition; Spirit Week is full of friendly, fun competition. You can feel the change in atmosphere during Spirit Week when you walk through the office. The bright purple capes, vibrant orange hats and colorful t-shirts make things more fun, but our team’s enthusiasm is really what changes Kingsgate during Spirit Week.

Spirit Week gives us the perfect opportunity to show our company culture. Our Spirit Week participants are people who have been at Kingsgate for 30+ years, to 10 years, to only a week or two. Spirit week shows everyone from our new hires to our veteran employees that no matter the growth, our desire to make Kingsgate an enjoyable place to work hasn’t changed. Celebrating Spirit Week allows us to work on our workplace relationships and reminds us to take a break so we’re more productive when we get back to our desks. It gives our sales reps extra pep in their calls during power hour and it creates fun employee competition. It’s a way to ensure we are Keeping It Kingsgate. Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates throughout the week.

All the Best,

Jeff Beckham
