KINGSGATE’S QUARTERLY COLD-CALL-A-THON: WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Kingsgate’s Broker Sales team had their most recent quarterly Cold-Call-A-Thon Friday, March 30th. During these Cold-Call-A-Thon’s Kingsgate sends their best sales reps off on a quest to make the most prospecting calls. Our goal is to motivate our sales team to reach their fullest potential and track down business by putting the pedal to the metal and making those cold-calls. Our call review committee tracks the sales team’s phone activity for one business day, 8 am to 5 pm with one hour lunch (it’s important to eat). After a tedious eight hour day, we announced Travis C. as the winner. Travis is a first-time winner of the Broker Sales World Champion Belt after only working with Kingsgate for 4 weeks. He called 201 potential clients and we sat down to discuss his win with him. Here’s what he said:

1. How do you feel now that you’ve won the widely known Kingsgate Cold-Call-A-Thon?

I feel great, to celebrate the win I’m going to Disney world!

2. What was your motivation to keep making those calls?

My co-worker, Andy motivated me! We had a $5 bet, he said that Kelly would win so I bet on myself and grinded it out.

3. What did you learn after making your first 50 calls versus after making 100 and then 200 calls? Did your strategy change?

My first 100 calls were the same strategy click and dial. In the afternoon I started talking to more people so I had to change my strategy to where I was pulling up the next prospect while talking to one that way I could just click and dial after I was done with the call which caused no delay.

4. After completing all 201 prospecting calls, what would you say your biggest take away was?

At 4:50 p.m I was worn out and at 196 calls, I definitely didn’t want to touch the phone again. My Coworkers pushed me and motivated me to at least get over 200, so my biggest takeaway is what a great group of people we have here they pushed, supported and was truly excited for me.

5. What would you like to say to the rest of your cold call competitors? Any words of wisdom to share?

I would like to tell my cold call competitors “Good luck next time!” My word of advice would be to “pick up and dial.”
