GET TO KNOW OUR RECRUITING TEAM

October 02 2017

Kingsgate is in the process of actively adding to our team. The goal of our recruiting department is to place qualified candidates into open positions and ensure they’ll fit into the Kingsgate Family.  As we move forward with our growth strategy I wanted to take a look at our two, in-house recruiters.

When you’re done reading, please feel free to apply by clicking here and Carlyn and Alex will reach out to you as soon as possible!

1. Tell me a bit about your background.

  • Alex W. – I am from a cornfield in Northeast Ohio, Shelby. After switching my major multiple times, I graduated from college with a degree in Business Management because I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do “when I grew up”.
  • Carlyn O. – I’m originally from Richmond, Virginia, but I moved to the West Chester area about 7 years ago. I started working at Kingsgate back in February as an intern, and once my internship was up I was hired on to work as an HR & Recruiting specialist while I finish up school at the University of Cincinnati where I’m working on my degree in HR and Spanish.

2. What got you into recruiting? And why do you like it?

  • Alex W. – The opportunity to get into recruiting came up from a former boss.  I immediately fell in love it!  Being the first person to meet and connect with new hires is my favorite part of recruiting.  Finding talented individuals to be an asset to the team is also very rewarding.
  • Carlyn O. – I love recruiting because it allows me to meet a lot of new and different people, and I get the chance to watch them grow. I take a lot of pride in bringing in employees that fit well and are going to succeed at Kingsgate. There’s nothing more exciting than seeing one of my hires doing well and loving their job!

3. What is one good tip for any resume?

  • Alex W. – I have a lot of resume tips but the number one has got to be to leave your picture off it.
  • Carlyn O. – When listing past job experiences, make sure to list accomplishments rather than just job descriptions.

4. What is one good tip for a phone interview?

  • Alex W. – My best phone interview tip would be to be enthusiastic and show your personality through the phone!
  • Carlyn O. – Ask questions! Phone interviews are important for us to get a feel for you, but it’s also your first chance to see if our company and the open position is a good fit for you.

5. What is one thing you want potential candidates to know about Kingsgate?

  • Alex W. – I want candidates to know that Kingsgate’s culture and employees are better than any other company’s! Our employees love coming to work… or at least they all act like it!
  • Carlyn O. – Kingsgate is an amazing place to work. From the management to the goal-driven mentality, to the family environment – working here is one of the best choices I’ve ever made. I encourage you to look into our company and apply today!
