KINGSGATE & CINCINNATI: GROWING TOGETHER

If you have seen our most recent post, you know Kingsgate has been named the winner of the 2017 Goering Center Family & Private Business Award for Family Businesses, 26-100 employees.

This is an honor Kingsgate was thrilled to see again, having last won this prestigious award in 2010. Since then, there have been many changes to both Kingsgate and the city of Cincinnati. This year’s ceremony focused on the development of Cincinnati, and I was proud to be given the opportunity to discuss my hometown. Cincinnati’s changes over the recent years have established it as the “Silicon Valley of Logistics.” The city’s growth has had a direct influence on Kingsgate’s rapid expansion over the past few years.

As a way of recognizing the growth we’ve experienced, I wanted to highlight some of the City’s and Kingsgate’s notable milestones.

Cincinnati:

1. Cincinnati has seen the renovation and reshaping of the Over-The-Rhine, Downtown and Clifton area.

2. In 2015, Cincinnati experienced 1.88% population growth.

3. Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark hosted the MLB All-Star game and former Cincinnati Reds player, Todd Fraizer, won the homerun derby.

4. The Cincinnati Bell Connector opened, adding a new method of public transport.

5. FC Cincinnati began playing in 2016 and converted Cincinnati to a soccer loving city, with record game attendance.

Kingsgate:

1. Kingsgate doubled in size, growing from 12 to almost 50 employees.

2. In 2015, we moved into a new office off Union Centre and tripled our square footage.

3. Kingsgate rebranded, changing our company name to Kingsgate Logistics to stay current with industry nomenclature.

4. Capitalizing on the Cincinnati’s love of sports, Kingsgate sponsored the Cincinnati Reds, Xavier University Musketeers and FC Cincinnati soccer.

5. We’ve also been recognized for excellence by the Cincinnati Business Courier, Dayton Business Journal, Ohio Psychological Association, Inc. 5000, and of course, the Goering Center.

Cincinnati has thrived over the past seven years since we have won this award, and Kingsgate has been able to grow alongside it. We again want to thank our employees, carriers, customers and the city of Cincinnati, all of who have helped us achieve these milestones.
