HOW TO INCREASE POSITIVITY AND DRIVE SALES

January 30 2017

In sales, attitude is everything. It alters everything – your tone of voice, enthusiasm, ability to listen and ultimately, your ability to make a sale. As Robert Herjavec, founder of Herjavec Group and Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank, said, “If whoever you’re selling to doesn’t like you, they’re not going to listen to you.” Your attitude plays a huge role in whether a person likes you.

Start your day off strong

Very few people wake up feeling energized and ready to take on their day; make sure you take the time to adjust your mind set. Mentally or physical energize yourself by eating breakfast, working out, and mentally prepare yourself to make today a great day.

Think positive thoughts

Continue positive self-talk throughout the day. Feel confident in your capabilities. Remember three things: your personal investment in what your selling, every customer is important and attitude is everything.  Keeping those three thoughts consistent will help you maintain an upbeat attitude for each and every customer.

Focus on solutions

In sales, it’s important to know that what you’re selling might not be for everyone. Listen to your customer and focus on solutions to help them fix their problems. If you’re able to provide strong results, every sale feels like an even better achievement. You know you’re providing a service that helps your customers.

Be resilient

There will inevitably be times when you lose a sale, get hung up on, blown off and deal with less than friendly customers. That’s part of the job. What is important is how you handle those “no”s – don’t let them bring you down, let them motivate you. Every “no” is one step closer to a “yes”.

Spread positivity

Creating a team atmosphere benefits you, your department and the company as a whole. Collaboration and open thinking help generate ideas and keep everyone working towards the same goals. Celebrate success together and help each other during the failures.

A great attitude will help you uncover opportunities you weren’t aware of before.  If you have a useful product or service, are selling for the right reasons and remaining positive you’ll close more deals than ever before.

All the Best,
